about Emma Guest jewellery
Emma’s inspiration comes from paper cut silhouettes and Victorian optical and kinetic toys. She is fascinated with balance and movement, and in her debut collection, bird on the wire, the birds have been designed to perch on the body and bob around as the wearer moves. Emma takes great care to hand-craft each piece so it sits perfectly on the body. And when not being worn, the necklaces in particular make wonderful window ornaments.
Emma’s passion for jewellery started as a journalist working on national fashion and women’s magazines. She began creating charm and beaded bracelets and accessories which she wore to work, and which colleagues quickly coveted. The fashion editor of Elle spotted one of her signature Fish bracelets, featured it in the magazine, and so costume jewellery label Lily the Pink was launched, running from 2001 until 2009. Emma’s designs sold through Liberty of London, the Natural History Museum Shop, Lomas Gallery, London, Browns Focus, Dublin and various independent galleries around the country.
Now, after several years of studying with some of today’s most respected designer-makers, Emma is launching Emma Guest jewellery.
